The City of Cartagena allocated 187,308 euros to development cooperation projects (25/11/2010)

The councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, has this morning signed cooperation agreements with 10 NGOs from the municipality to carry out different activities in Third World countries.

The places are allocated funds provided by the City, specifically a total of 187,308 euros, corresponding to areas of the Tindouf camps in Algeria, Ghana, Santiago de Chuco in Peru, Vietnam, Morocco Jerada, Buenos Aires, Argentina The city of León in Mexico, Mauritania, Burkina Faso in Africa and Palliri city of Bolivia.

The entities that have received the municipal contribution to their projects of cooperation have been the Association of Friends of the Saharawi people, Solidarity, Education and Development (SED), Manos Unidas, Telephone of Hope Foundation Interred, Chinguetti Foundation, Fundación San Asylum Shop Pedro, Caritas Centre Coordinator, Youth and Development Foundation and CEPAIM.

The agreements signed at the Municipal Institute of Social Services City of Cartagena, reflected sensitivity to the precarious situation experienced by countries with lower rates of economic development, organized on a competitive basis Aid for Development NGO based in Cartagena for the implementation of projects of international cooperation with developing countries by the year 2010, published in the BORM No 167 of July 22, 2010.

Remember that last year were delivered for development cooperation agreements, the amount of 260,000 euros, for the 9 projects submitted by nine institutions.
