A new network supports the establishment of spin-offs from the University (19/11/2010)

Result of close collaboration between the Bancaja Young Entrepreneurs of the UPCT, the Agency of Local Development and Employment of the City of Cartagena and the Institute of Development, the Platform has emerged to support technology-based business initiatives arising from the University Politécnica de Cartagena, which was presented by the director of Bancaja, Domingo García Pérez de Lema, and aims to promote the creation of high technology companies.

In fact, now they are supporting a number of spin-off projects in the fields of ICT, electronic engineering, sustainable landscapes, remote sensing and wine production.

The presentation was held Wednesday in the Faculty of Business of the UPCT, under the Sixth Annual Meeting of the Red Point SMEs organized by INFO.

The opening of the meeting was given by the Rector of the UPCT, Felix Faure, and was attended by the Councillor for Citizen Security, Tourism, Youth, Trade and Employment of the City of Cartagena, Javier Herrero, and director of INFO, Juan José Beltrán.

Point SME Network is the largest network of information and services for SMEs and entrepreneurs covering the whole regional territory.

It comprises more than 110 data points spread across the geography of the Region of Murcia.

Integrated into the main entities that are in contact with small and medium enterprises and self-employment initiatives.

During the conference took stock of activities carried out during 2010 and were awarded prizes of the year Star Point SMEs.
