Port of Culture opens its doors to celebrate Hispanic Heritage (08/10/2010)

Cartagena Port of Cultures will be open every day of Hispanic Heritage Bridge, so that visitors can enjoy tourism in Cartagena, from the interpretation centers and archaeological sites to the tourist transportation.

With this initiative, Puerto de Culturas once again demonstrates his commitment to service-oriented visitors, expanding and changing opening hours when events in the city require, as has happened in publishing many more in May or in the current biennial Manifesta 8 as well as special days of influx of tourists and cruise or summer months.

Visitors who wish may climb to the panoramic lift to the Castle de la Concepcion, and visit the new rooms dating from the late seventeenth and early eighteenth and hosting an exhibition of medieval period the city.

You can also visit the Punic Wall, the Roman Theatre and Museum.

El Refugio-Civil War Museum and Interpretation Centre of the Mediterranean Defensive Architecture in Fort Christmas that will be available on the tour boat, will be open.

The schedule of interpretive centers will 14.30hy 10h-16h-19.30h.

The tourist bus, will leave from the port stop: 10h 11h 12h 13h 14h 15h and 17h from the Plaza Bastarreche.

Tourist Boat tours will be from 10.30 to 13.30h and from 15.30h to 6:30 p.m. every hour.

VISITORS INCREASE

Cartagena Port of Cultures "has increased by 10 percent the number of visitors during the summer months compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 142,500 between June and September.

These promising data encourage the consortium to continue working to make the city a quality tourist destination.
