The ADLE coordinate a million euros in microcredit for new businesses The City of Cartagena and Microbank have signed a collaboration agreement in order to facilitate access to funding to help launch new businesses, with the objective to enhance empl (01/10/2010)

The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and MicroBank commercial director, Ramón Gatell, this morning signed a collaboration agreement with the purpose of financing projects through micro-credit business.

The agreement between the municipality and MicroBank establishes a new credit line targeting both entrepreneurs and the self-employed and people with innovative projects, as well as the most vulnerable who are financially excluded.

MicroBank credit will invest up to one million euros.

Local Development Agency and Employment (ALDE), explained MicroBank director will be responsible for coordinating the Microcredit Committee of the City of Cartagena, formed by the Department of Youth and Employment, Women, Social Services and that ADLE basic consider the execution of this agreement, to be the key to funding the start-up businesses.

The need for this service, explained Pilar Barreiro, is based on the high demand for the creation and consolidation have had the business and employment department of the Agency ADLE, tripling the users of business advice so far in 2010 compared the previous.

Also, he added, is based on consultations ranging from business idea to the viability of the business plan and advice on grants and financial alternatives, among which are:

The mayor stressed that following the interest shown in the ADLE of new business creation in the first half of 2010 plans were created 25 companies and 1 6 companies, 363 users participated and 34 people were receiving the check Entrepreneur.

By contrast, in 2009, were 438 users, 30 business plans, created 24 companies, 55 people receiving the check entrepreneurial firm requested 9 Microcredit Microcredit and 2 € 25,000 approved by the entity Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo.

In this sense, there is an urgent need to facilitate access to finance for entrepreneurs who have made viable business projects that can not access financing through traditional channels because they lack collateral or credit history, and also often be groups with special difficulties in accessing the labor market, which is very important to establish financial alternatives that foster the creation and consolidation of companies and thus contribute to job creation and local development.

This agreement may alleviate the above need, as it provides two lines of funding aimed at: promoting self-employment and encourage entrepreneurial activity by promoting equal opportunities for men and women, young, new residents, people with disabilities and with special attention to vulnerable groups in situations of financial exclusion (social micro-credit line / Features annex).

On the one hand, has the micro business and small enterprises, to a maximum of EUR 25,000 for self, small business and entrepreneurs, and on the other hand, microcredit has relatives who are targeted to meet family needs to overcome temporary difficulties and facilitate the personal and family development.

60% of microcredit for businesses that have been granted the financial institution has been earmarked for start-ups, while the remaining 40% has been used to finance the growth needs of micro enterprises already established.

The average of these operations is around 12,000 euros.

For their part, family microcredit currently account for over half of the operations authorized by the entity.

The criteria for granting micro-credits by attending primarily MicroBank confidence in the person requesting the loan and the viability of the project, people can access them devoid of assurances and guarantees.

In the Region of Murcia, and the end of last August, 1941 MicroBank has granted loans amounting to 11.8 million euros.
