The City purchased 14,000 meters for the new school in La Aljorra (20/09/2010)

The City of Cartagena has acquired 14,000 square meters in the deputation of the Aljorra to build a new nursery and primary school, whose works were auctioned next year by the Ministry of Education.

The signing of the deeds of assignment by the owners of the land to the municipality was signed last Tuesday by the Town Planning, Joaquín Segado.

This is an early release on account of rights that apply to urban property owners and that may materialize in this and other urban development in the municipality of Cartagena.

The lands are in the area known as Montana, west of Aljorra in a commercial area, next to Luis Guash football field, the Center for Child Care, the site of festivals and the doctor.

As indicated by the Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto, the Ministry of Education intends to tender in 2011 to build this school, as part of the commitments made in the Social Pact for Education 2010-2012.

This is a school nursery and primary schools for boys and girls between 3 and 12 years, with three lines, and will come to solve the problems of antiquity that record the premises of the two existing schools: Miguel de Cervantes and Aljorra .

The other action contemplated by this agreement for education in Cartagena, reminded the Councillor, is building the second phase of the Colegio de la Rambla, launched this year for kindergarten.

This extension are to be for next year, with primary education.
