Cartagena will host one of the four concerts of Chopin Centennial II (15/09/2010)

Cartagena is one of four Spanish cities with Murcia, Zaragoza and Valencia, where will the cycle of concerts by the pianist Pawel Kowalska, held in commemoration of the bicentennial of the birth of Fryderyk Chopin.

This concert season, which makes its third stop in the port city, particularly in the foyer of the Town Hall on October 1 at 20:00 pm, is organized by the Government of Poland to mark the second anniversary of the composer's death .

It interpreted the most important parts of the Polish composer as:

Pawe "Kowalski is one of the most universal Polish musicians.

It was the first after Krystian Zimerman, who played the piano concert of mourning Witold awski ", directed by the composer himself in April 1989 in Warsaw.

The pianist studied at the Musikhochschule Rheinland in Cologne, the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw and the Academy of Music in Vancouver.

Kowalski in his repertoire includes music of Bach, Scriabin, Mozart piano concertos of Beethoven, as well as compositions for piano and orchestra by Chopin, Brahms, Ravel, Poulenc, Gershwin, Paderewski, Panufnik, Górecki, Kilar's music camera, film soundtracks and jazz.

The musician performed throughout Europe, U.S., Canada and Japan.

Participated in concerts with the Warsaw Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Yehudi Menuhin.

Also collaborated with the symphony orchestras of Berlin and Oslo.

In 2004 he was soloist in the piano concerto by Wojciech Kilar, who played with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

In the sheet music for this concert the composer himself he said the artist: "For the pianist Pawe Kowalski thanked him for his beautiful and so my interpretation of the concert. In the same year Pawe Kowalski was recognized by the French newspaper Courrier International as one of the four personalities Poland's most interesting.

In 2006 the pianist played in the National Philharmonic in Warsaw to mark the International A or Mozart.

Over the past two years, the artist was a member of the Jury of International Piano Competition in Slovakia Humml.

He also gave concerts in Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile.
