The malaga singer Antonia Contreras and the guitarist Juan Ramón Caro will perform this Saturday, April 21 at 9:30 pm at the Mare Nostrum.
This activity, organized by the Peña Flamenca de Cartagena Antonio Piñana, is part of the 5th Cartagena Jonda Flamenco Cycle with which the City of Cartagena collaborates.
Antonia Contreras is a long cantaora who sings with exquisite respect, at the same time as she takes the sticks to her own ground.
She is an interpreter of reference in the cante por malagueñas, but she dominates all the styles of Levante and she also stands out in the cante por soleá, siguiriyas, tangos, cane that in mining or cartagenera.
Sing with sensitivity, most of the time unpublished lyrics, produced for her.
It is the 2016 Mining Lamp Prize, which was awarded along with the prize for malagueñas, grenades and mining.
His cante is in the discographic anthologies: Cantes de Málaga and Cante por serranas.
He has recorded Amor Brujo with the Poitou-Charentes orchestra, with which he performs regularly.
In 2017 he recorded his first flamenco solo album, La Voz Vivida, accompanied by Juan Ramón Caro, a splendid album, with very careful arrangements, where present and past come together in elegant balance.
Juan Ramón Caro is a Catalan guitarist, with a modern and personal touch, with ancient depth.
He has accompanied artists such as Mayte Martín, Miguel Poveda, Belén Maya and Curro Piñana, among others.
He learned the mining touch in this land.
When he was doing military service, he met the Piñana family, El Rampa, El Bomgui, and the Fernández de La Unión family.
He is virtuous and respectful with singing and dancing, at the same time as a creator and composer.
He has published a solo album, La Rosa de los Vientos, with his own compositions, which has collaborations such as Enrique Morente's.
