The Community presents the new call for Proof of Concept to researchers of the UPCT (13/04/2018)

The General Director of Universities and Research, Juan Monzó, presented yesterday to the research groups of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) the Call for Proof of Concept, a pioneering initiative launched by the Ministry of Employment, Universities and Business, through of the Seneca Foundation, which helps researchers in the Region to transform their results into products, services or technology-based companies and thereby access the market.

In subsequent meetings they will be presented to other research organizations.

The call will allow researchers to develop prototypes, patents, pilot plants or carry out market studies and the necessary certifications so that the research results can be brought to the market in the shortest time possible, within the initiative of Campus Entrepreneurs and Support to the Knowledge Transfer.

These grants have a maximum amount of 30,000 euros per application, which is a sufficient amount to finance the development of products or services in most cases.

Monzó stressed that the objective of this aid is that "the results of regional research do not remain in the drawer.

We want them to go from the laboratory to the market, to be commercialized and to finally contribute to the economic development of the university itself and the Region.

It is a pioneering initiative in a regional research agency and we believe that it can be a very important step to promote disruptive innovation from the university ".

The call will remain open until April 27.
