The Department of Culture and the Performing Arts Platform continue this weekend from April 6 to 8 with the programming of the rest of World Theater Day events, which will be concentrated almost entirely in the Plaza de San Francisco in order to take the theater to the street and bring it closer to the general public.

On Friday afternoon the Municipal School of Theater organizes an open class, where the students of the school with the attending public can enjoy and have fun with exercises, games and theatrical improvisations.

On Saturday morning at 12 noon at the Palacio de Molina, César Oliva, pedagogue, playwright and professor at the UMU, will give a talk: 'Maiquez and modernity in interpretation', with free admission until full capacity is reached.

The program will continue in the afternoon at 6:30 p.m. in the Plaza San Francisco with the Joint Exhibition of the Performing Arts Platform of Cartagena and its Region, which will be presented by the actor and monologuist from Murcia, Javier Chou.

In it the Municipal School and the theatrical groups that make up the Platform will represent different scenes before the attending public.

The gala ends at 10pm with a show where the RAP music will be combined with the monologues of classic works by the actors of the KREATEATRO youth group, in a novel proposal that combines classicism and modernity.

On Sunday morning, the Platform Exhibition will continue with a children's and youth programming aimed at the little ones and reading at 1:00 p.m. from the Manifesto of the 2018 World Theater Day.

For these acts, the City Council has placed a stage in front of the statue of Isidoro Maíquez who will receive a special illumination in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of the Cartagena actor and chairs will be placed so that the audience can watch the show.

The acts end the week of April 9 to 15 with the 19th edition of the Amateur Theater Competition Isidoro Maíquez organized by the Algameca Theater Group in the Neighborhood Association of the Concepción neighborhood.
