The municipal plenary session shows its unanimous support to women suffering from endometriosis (22/03/2018)

The Plenary Session of the City Council of Cartagena has approved at its meeting today an institutional declaration in support of women suffering from endometriosis.

To this end, the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and the State itself are urged to be involved in the improvement of the detection, diagnosis and treatment of this disease, through funds for research in public centers, institutions and universities working in the region. health field.

Endometriosis is a chronic and progressive disease in at least 50% of affected women, of which the causes that produce it are still unknown.

It has an incidence of around 10% of women of childbearing age;

and between 30 and 40 percent with endometriosis have difficulty getting pregnant.

In this sense, the CARM and the Murcian Health Service are urged to establish multidisciplinary teams and promote training courses for health personnel and medical professionals in health centers and hospitals in order to make the diagnoses more accurate. fast and the right treatments from the first minute.

It is also requested that epidemiological studies be conducted to know the exact scope of the disease in our Region, as well as the promotion of information campaigns in hospitals and health centers dependent on the Community, through the newly created School of Health.

Finally, the SMS is requested to establish priority mechanisms and increase the options regarding fertility techniques for those affected by this disease and urge, urging the CARM to give due support to associations affected by endometriosis.

MOTIONS

The plenary chaired by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has rejected with the votes against the PP and PSOE, and the favorable votes of MC Cartagena, Ciudadanos and CTSSP, a motion by MC Cartagena for the full referral to the Court of Auditors in ten days the file on the allocations to the municipal political groups of the years 2011 to 2015. Both PP and PSOE have justified their vote against understanding that these assignments had already been duly justified and that the referral to the court of accounts it could be done by the municipal groups without being agreed upon by the plenary.

Unanimously, another PP motion has been approved to respond to the demands of the directors, parents and mothers of the Luis Guarch Sports Association of La Aljorra, completing the modernization of the facilities and for the municipal technician to be mandated to demand the contractor of the work the immediate repair of the water tank.

With the abstentions of CTSSP and PP, and the favorable votes of the rest of the groups, a PSOE motion has been approved to propose to the United Nations, the European Parliament, the Congress of Deputies and the Regional Assembly the creation of the institution of the "Defender of the Future Generations", which serves to preserve resources and the environment.

CTSSP has explained its abstention by doubting the usefulness of this institution, given that the root of the problem is savage capitalism and consumerism.

The motion of MC Cartagena asking for a tribute to the Blue and Black Cartagena music group in the framework of the La Mar de Músicas Festival has not gone ahead, as well as the file to dedicate the existing plaza to the auditorium of El Batel. .

The motion has counted on the votes against PP and PSOE, which have not doubted the merits of Blue and Black, but that the proper setting of the tribute was the Sea of ​​Music.

whereas CTSSP has abstained.

The motion of MC Cartagena, which requested the continuation of the ex officio review procedure for water tariffs, has also been rejected.
