UPCT students finish the tenth Teleco LAN Party, which starts tonight (22/03/2018)

Tonight, starting at 10 pm, the doors of the tenth Teleco LAN Party open.

The digital entertainment event, organized by students of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, which this morning was busy preparing high-speed connections and the stage for competitions, will last for 110 uninterrupted hours until noon on Tuesday 27.

The 300 participants of the Teleco LAN Party will enjoy an Internet connection of two symmetric gigabytes per second.

"The students themselves connect fiber optic industrial size that requires this connection speed," says the president of the organizing association, Ignacio Cifuentes.

"This experience has helped me find my first jobs", exemplifies.

In fact, former students who have participated in the Teleco LAN Party are currently working for important companies such as Telefónica, Indra, Técnicas Reunidas, El Idealista or Odilo.

Electronic sports will once again be the main attraction of the LAN Party that UPCT students organize every year.

Up to seven tournaments, League of Legends, CS Global-Offensive, Rocket League, Hearthstone, Fifa 18, Worms: Armageddon and Asseto Corsa, will be held during the 110 hours that will last the event, which will have a stage for visitors to enjoy a digital show that increasingly has more followers.

"The Teleco LAN Party is an opportunity to weave ties between 'gamers' and break the digital barrier," argues Cifuentes.

The Polytechnic of Cartagena is a reference in electronic sports, having the UPCT eSports Club team and was the first Spanish university that created a 'gaming room' in its facilities.

"We have an audience that repeats edition after edition and with an average age that is growing and approaching 25 years," explains Cifuentes.

"We are very well positioned in the national circuit," he adds.

In fact, the Teleco LAN Party is the most valued among the users of the web lanparties.es and around 35% of the 300 attendees of this edition will come from outside the Region of Murcia.

A hundred digital leisure enthusiasts from Madrid, Valencia, Albacete and Alicante move to Cartagena, although tomorrow is only a holiday in the departmental municipality, to attend the tenth edition of the Teleco LAN Party.
