The Manga Salon of Cartagena will receive 10,000 people this year and will host 200 activities (28/02/2018)

The sixth Manga Fair and the Japanese Culture of Cartagena, 'Cartagena Remanga', will be held on the 28th and 29th of April at the headquarters of the Higher School of Industrial Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).

The show has one more year with the collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, the City of Cartagena and the UPCT and in this edition the organizers foresee that some 10,000 people attend, representing a growth of around 25 percent compared to last year.

The general director of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts (ICA), Marta López-Briones, attended the presentation of the program today with the Councilor for Culture, Education and Youth of Cartagena, David Martínez;

the head of the Student Area of ​​the UPCT, Miguel Díaz, and the director of the Hall, Antonio Álvarez.

'Cartagena Remanga' will have more than 200 activities related to the world of manga, Japanese culture, alternative cultures and videogames, which will turn this event into "one of the main cultural events of the regional calendar and, each more time, of the national panorama, since 30 percent of the attendees arrive from outside of Cartagena, "said López-Briones.

The head of the ICA also highlighted "the tourist and educational importance of this show, which, like the one held in Murcia at the regional Auditorium, grows year after year, bringing novelties that show its quality by approaching numerous aspects of Japanese culture and an audience increasingly broad and varied. "

Among the activities scheduled in the Salón del Manga and the Japanese Culture of Cartagena, the workshops will be held, since about thirty will be organized related to handicrafts, bonsai care, cuisine or Japanese poetry.

Also, there will be a dozen talks on how to prepare a trip to Japan, initiation to dubbing, illustration and video games, among other topics.

A Japanese rock concert, another of classical music on anime and video games and a third in charge of the winner of the first national prize of the Song Contest are part of the musical program of the event, during which there will also be activities related to dance: K-Pop, Bon Odori (traditional Japanese dance) and dance.

Also, the exhibitions and the encounters with artists, cosplayers and youtubers stand out;

a wide area dedicated to games and video games will be enabled with the celebration of tournaments and competitions;

a commercial zone and also the Japanese and oriental gastronomy will be present.
