The Popular University closes the Literary Contest Carmen Conde This contest put yesterday end and end to these days organized annually by the Association of Women Sunrise of Barrio Peral, whose literary workshop is part of the Bazaar of Letters of t (23/02/2018)

The students of the different workshops of the Bazar de Letras of the Popular University met to remember and honor Carmen Conde and her verses with her stories during the afternoon of February 22nd.

During this emotional ceremony they were accompanied by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and by the director of the Popular University, José Macián.

Ana Belén Castejón shared her passion for poetry with the public gathered by reciting a poem, congratulated the Popular University and all the participants of this contest because they maintain a literary tradition of more than 20 years, which began with Professor Lola Fernández.

The mayor encouraged all attendees to continue developing their creative potential.

The verses proposed for this edition belong to 'Brocal', work published in 1929 by the academic and poet from Cartagena and, as always, they have taken the inspiration of the authors by very different directions, "From the red lighthouse, to the green lighthouse.

From the green lighthouse, to the red lighthouse / I opened the dawn, walking from lighthouse to lighthouse! ".

As in previous editions, the celebration of these events serves as motivation for the students of the Popular University who with their stories exhibit the skills acquired week by week in their respective workshops.

The jury met on the morning of last Tuesday and decided to award the First Prize of the Literary Workshop to Isabel Martínez for her story 'Amina' and the Accésit a Loli Bastida for 'A sea of ​​love'.

With respect to the prize of the Days, the First Prize went to Carmina Mengual and the Accésit for Milagros Márquez, both students of the Cultural Center Bazaar.

In addition to the prize for the Literary Workshop and the Carmen Conde Prize, during the ceremony the Fina Martínez award was also presented for the perseverance and enthusiasm in the work by the association, which this year was granted by fourteen votes out of a total of seventeen to Ana Silvente.
