The Governing Board approves agreements for the care of people in social exclusion and pharmaceutical spending Among their agreements is also the approval of the bases for the Festival Much More May (16/02/2018)

The Board of Local Government, meeting this afternoon with extraordinary character, under the presidency of the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón , has approved two agreements for the care of people in social exclusion and pharmaceutical expenditure.

In particular, it has been approved the signing of a collaboration agreement with Caritas Diocese of Cartagena Coordinating Center for the care of people in situations of exclusion or risk of exclusion and in serious need , so that the Municipal Social Services can refer them to the Social Commissary "Los Panes y los Peces" and " Óbolo Stores" where food and clothing will be provided;

as well as facilitating the management of travel tickets for homeless people and passers-by.

It has also been approved the signing of another collaboration agreement with the Official College of Pharmacists of the Region of Murcia , for the care of people in situations of need derived by the municipal social services to meet pharmaceutical expenses.

Specifically, it is about establishing the pharmacies to which users of Social Services may be referred with the corresponding vouchers for the acquisition of medicines.

Also within the Social Services section, the Board has approved the acceptance of two grants from the Autonomous Community amounting to about 175 thousand euros.

The first one, amounting to about 122 thousand euros, will be allocated to the development of actions to support the social work program of the primary care social service centers .

The second, amounting to some 53,000 euros, will be used to finance actions to support the family and children.

BASES A LOT MORE MAY

The Governing Board has also approved the bases of the public call for projects of the Emerging Art Festival Much More May 2018 Cartagena, whose deadline for submission of projects will end on March 22 .

The ninth edition of M + M, the Emerging Art Festival will be held this year between May 25 and June 3, 2018 , and the guest district is the neighborhood of Los Dolores-Bda.

Individual or collective projects can be presented in any artistic discipline or creative language and the projects selected by a Selection Committee will become part of the festival program.

The registration and the necessary documentation can be presented in digital format at the electronic headquarters of the City of Cartagena or printed, at the General Registry Office .

It can also be delivered to the Department of Culture of Cartagena as well as the Decentralization Offices in Districts and Provincial Councils (OMITAS), or by certified mail .

Much More May is a program of artistic interventions in the urban environment developed by creators of all creative records, using public spaces and unconventional places in the city and municipality of Cartagena (Murcia, Spain).

The festival is organized by the City of Cartagena through the Department of Culture and Youth, and has an Organizing Committee.

GRANTS TO THE ROMAN THEATER

The Local Government Board has also approved a grant of 95 thousand euros to defray operating expenses to the Teatro Romano de Cartagena Foundation.

The foundation is financed by 75 percent with its own resources , with the remaining 25 percent corresponding to 8.3 percent of its patrons, which are the City of Cartagena, the Autonomous Community and the Cajamurcia Foundation.

The Board has also given its approval to the initial approval of the specific modification of the Special Plan for a building in Campos Street No. 9 (today No. 7) and has rejected the remedy of replenishment formulated against the bases that will govern the definitive provision of the posts of General Secretary of the Plenary, Comptroller and Director of the Office of Municipal Government l.

In its dismissal the City Council defends the power to select these posts by free appointment , being a large town council.

Finally, the matter regarding the rectification and consequent validation of the agreement of the Local Government Board of December 29, 2017, of the approval of the Board of Governors , to be held on Monday, February 19 , has been withdrawn. new potable water rates, fees for the authorization of connections and sewage and wastewater treatment services and service and meter maintenance fees for the year 2018, and acceptance of the documentation submitted by Hidrogea, which confirms the aforementioned agreement.
