The cycle of meetings of the Mandarache Prize reaches its equator with the visit of the writer Julio Fajardo Herrero, whose second novel, Ordinary Assembly (Libros del Asteroide, 2016), competes for the award in its thirteenth edition.
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20
The author, whose program of activities will allow him to meet more than 1,000 readers, will begin on Tuesday, February 20, with a meeting with the press at 10 am in the Board Room of the UPCT (former Marina Hospital), before celebrating the Traditional meeting with six hundred high school students at 10:30 am in the Auditorium of the UPCT.
He will continue his activities in the afternoon visiting the Mandarache Bookshop workshop at 5:00 pm in the ARQUA Museum's library, and at 7:30 pm he will hold a meeting with university students and reading clubs open to the general public at the Cajamurcia Foundation.
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 21
The next day he will visit the IES Isaac Peral at 9am and 11am at the Fundación Caja Mediterráneo (Main Street) his program will finish with a meeting with two hundred students from secondary schools involved in the project.
The writer and professor of the IES Las Salinas del Mar Menor and member of the Mandarache group, Diego Sánchez Aguilar, will be in charge of presenting Fajardo Herrero.
"Ordinary Assembly" has been defined by many as "the novel of the crisis";
the novel that has best described the years of financial crisis in Spain.
However, the panorama offered by the work emerges from the intimate, the lives of three pairs of characters whose stories draw an x-ray of what is happening to us as a society.
