Statement from Francisco Martínez Muñoz, councilor of CTSSP (14/02/2018)

Mr. Espejo's statements about the Research Commission of the Casco Antiguo Society deeply annoy me.

Mr. Mirror lies in stating that the Commission of Inquiry proposed MC, the motion was unanimously approved in the Municipal Plenary including his vote and proposed Cartagena Yes It Can, hence the then mayor proposed me to preside, accepting the proposal within the Board of Directors of the Casco Antiguo Society unanimously by all members, including Mr. Espejo.

I think it is an intolerable lack of respect to describe as a circus the Commission of Inquiry that the only thing it has done is scrupulously comply with the mandate of the municipal plenum, which was given to us by 27 councilors, including Mr. Espejo, a Commission in which no one has seen coerced to review files, propose appearing even in setting the day and time of the sessions.

More regrettable is that no member except the President has brought any proposal or report or include, change or delete a single paragraph of the only report presented mine, at least the other members have had the decency not to make statements of moment.

I am not surprised by Mr. Espejo's statements. At the January 24 Commission meeting, he stated that he was not going to participate in the preparation of the report, he described the Commission as a circus and allowed himself to affirm that the report It was agreed, in reference to the Batel Commission.

You see Mr. Mirror the report was not agreed, but I do believe in the independence of the municipal groups, I do value and respect the Municipal Plenary of the City Council of Cartagena, for that reason I have devoted many hours to the preparation of the report that I will present at a press conference next February 20, after finishing the last performance of the Commission of Inquiry.

I would have liked to have been accompanied by all the members of the Commission, that we would have presented a consensus report, it has been impossible: PP and C's have voted against before knowing the report, what they are going to explain to the citizens, what explanations are going to give PSOE and MC that have abstained and have not contributed any proposal.

I could not allow this Commission of Inquiry to make a fool of itself, to fail to comply with the obligation that the plenary session ordered us to prepare a report.

A clear example of the commitment of what can expect Cartagena, one thing is to vote yes to a Commission of Inquiry, for political "postureo" and another is to work to fulfill the mandate that has given us the full.

Francisco Martínez Muñoz.
