The Department of Education has offered for the second consecutive year to several schools in Cartagena, an activity to recover the Trovo tradition.
This activity was carried out during the past school year as a pilot experience with a very positive result.
The activity consists of a theoretical part with an explanation about the characteristics, the history, the actuality and the social influence of the Trovo, as well as the technical explanation of its stanzas and its construction.
Later a practical demonstration of a "Controversia Trovera" will be made between two troveros, mixing the modalities "Cantado" and "Recitado", with themes chosen by the students.
Likewise, the students will be able to enjoy various improvisation interventions in the other modalities of the Trovo.
Students can participate in the activity with a "trovero" debate with stanzas that they will propose.
The objective is to bring the trovo to the students, to know the trovo as improvised popular poetry and to preserve this style as an integral part of our cultural tradition.
In the next edition, 889 students from 5th and 6th grade of Primary and 1st and 2nd of ESO from a total of 15 educational centers will participate.
