José López regrets the efforts of the Ministry of Development to prevent the arrival of the AVE to Cartagena (09/02/2018)

This morning, the general secretary and spokesman of MC Cartagena, José López, has valued the public appearance made last Wednesday by the Minister of Development, Ińigo de la Serna, who, accompanied by the president of the CARM, Fernando López Miras;

the government delegate, Francisco Bernabé, and the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, announced a state investment of 740 million euros in railways for the city of Murcia, for 102,000 euros for Cartagena.

The mayor has begun regretting the fact that, once again, "the PP appeared in Cartagena to sell projects over 50 kilometers, and the mayor did not represent the Cartagena and dedicated to give away ties and thank the absence of projects "

López has recalled the claim of MC that, since 2014, has been demanding the construction of Benipa's baipas, receiving "long by Francisco 'grapes' Bernabé, his opening act Rivera and no adhesion (even votes against C's, Podemos and PP in the plenary sessions of the summer of 2015.) In time they got on the bandwagon, but they talked about complicated procedures, budgets, etc. "

In a concrete way, the spokesman of the formation Cartagena has indicated that "with 112 million the AVE would be in the Autonomous Community without forcing the residents of Murcia to accept a provisional arrival (or not) on the surface, and without isolating this field infrastructure of Cartagena, Tourism, the Mar Menor, our heritage and our industry ".

The investment would be broken down into less than 10 million euros for the Benipa's bypass, and another 102 for the third line of the line to Cartagena.

This investment (112 million) would allow the arrival of the AVE to Cartagena and the CARM, at the same time that would advance in the burial (628 million), since the minister alluded to 740 million tendered before summer in rail for Murcia.

At this point, he has alluded to some numbers that "are his, not those of MC", underlining that "the politicians of the PP militate against Cartagena, although for this they must harm or disregard the citizens of Murcia".

Identical highway discrimination

The spokesman of MC Cartagena has highlighted another significant situation of comparative grievance, reflected in that "the inhabitants of Cartagena, La Union, Fuente Alamo, Torre Pacheco, Mazarrón, San Javier, Los Alcázares or San Pedro del Pinatar have to pay from April 1 the toll of the Cartagena Vera to a public company (CEITTSA), in addition to paying from 2001 the AP7 to Alicante ".

At the time, "they announce that they are going to unfold the road from Alhama to Crevillente to unite the Mediterranean and take over the traffic," he continued.

Jose Lopez has clarified that there are "two roads that make this journey, they are already built, they would not be tolls and they would assume that traffic in a natural and orderly manner, but they do not do it".

In the opinion of the councilor of MC "continue to penalize the Campo de Cartagena while investing 627 million euros on this road and the circumvallation of Murcia (northwest arch)".

Happiness of the mayor, isolation to Cartagena

José López has contrasted the incongruity of the happiness expressed by the mayor, "for allowing us to pay the variant of Camarillas, charged to the benefits of our port," with the absence of deadlines offered by the minister, "it must have seemed rude, being able to talk about cauldrons or ties ".

It has drawn attention to the announcement of money tendered in 2018 (1,367 million euros), of which only slightly more than 100 thousand euros would correspond to Cartagena "to wash the face of the station", a commitment started by López himself during the last meeting of 'Cartagena Alta Velocidad', held in Madrid last spring.

"A station that I recovered in one of my first decisions as mayor," he remarked.

Subsequently, the secretary general of the Cartagena training has pointed out that "the arrival of the AVE to Murcia can mean, in addition to laughing at the citizens of this city, leaving Cartagena without a railroad, without commuting, because the minister also declared that it would not improve it. We would go back to the 19th century, before Isabel II inaugurated the line ".

Before the demonstrations of López Miras highlighting the beauty of Cartagena and the smile and kindness of Castejón, the MC spokesman has reiterated the need to offer "future and progress".

A conjuncture that advises "to do something more, we have got the Plenary to support us, to talk about the projects, but the central, regional and local governments push us into the abyss, to a Cartagena without a railway and with tolls".

"These politicians convert us slowly and decisively into an appendix of Murcia, from the port of Castilla to 'visitilla.' The political class of this region has not been 'weaned', and it also charges irrigators for the water they do not have; leaves San Javier without an airport, doubles the Torre Pacheco fairgrounds, or announces to us in Cartagena that the nearest work will be done 50 kilometers away, "Lopez said.

Finally, it has revealed that MC will initiate "a round of contacts with all the groups and associations of the municipality and the region to claim these infrastructures and, above all, respect for citizens, and a future that is denied to us with capricious and unjustified decisions that they can weigh on us for another 40 years.
