The Port of Cartagena hosted on Sunday February 4 an emotional tribute in memory of the 3,115 people who died in the Mediterranean Sea last year, attended by hundreds of residents of the municipality with the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón , Councilwoman Carmen Martín and the manager of the Local Development and Employment Agency, Manuel Mora.

The tribute, organized by the group Círculo de Silencio, began at 12 o'clock next to the whale's tail, where a performance was developed with flowers and elements that represent the drama of the emigration, after which the attendees threw a flower to the sea in memory of the deceased.

After the tribute moved to the esplanade of the port, where he had placed a wall with pejorative words towards immigration.

The spectators, among whom were many children, participated demolishing that wall and later, raising another full of positive words.

Also, several actors from La Murga Teatro represented the arrival of 3 immigrants to our shores, and two Senegalese sang a song about freedom.
