The Municipal Group MC Cartagena will present at the next Plenary Session of the City Council, to be held on Friday, December 29, a motion to urge the Government Council of the CARM to improve access to the Speed ​​Circuit on the RM-605.
In this way, through the proposal to be presented by the first deputy mayor and councilor of the Culture and Heritage area, Ricardo Segado (MC Cartagena), the Cartagena training will propose a series of measures aimed at improving access to the venue on the road to La Aljorra.
In this sense, Segado has ensured that the Speed ​​Circuit has had 223 days of track occupancy in 2017, with 4,040 pilots and companions between July and December of this year, among other outstanding data.
Also, the mayor has highlighted that "hosts national and international motorcycling and motorsport competitions, as well as a multitude of events of various kinds."

Emphasizing the benefits of the Speed ​​Circuit, Ricardo Segado pointed out that "its facilities are ideal for training pilots thanks to the weather conditions that make it especially useful and attractive." He has also managed to break the seasonality, increasing the number of pilots that make use of it during the last years and in any season ".
As if all this were not enough, "the Circuit welcomes motorcycling schools, the Los Dolores Cycling Club and the School Cross of the Department of Sports, with hundreds of children participating combining sports with safety."
In short, all these qualities "make it a reference for motorcycling, sports tourism and unique engine in the Spanish east."
Needs for improvement in access
However, the accesses to the circuit are currently quite deteriorated.
They do not provide the image that it should for the type of events it houses and, in addition, do not meet the minimum conditions for good transit.
The access part of a point of confluence of several routes.
So you can reach this access from the rural road T-14-2, by the RM-605 Fuente Alamo / La Aljora, by the RM-605 Cartagena / Los Dolores, as well as by the A-30 taking the detour to the AP-7 and later taking the exit to the RM-605.
In this regard, the councilor has indicated that "from the municipal MC Group understand that for the improvement of access to the circuit would be necessary the following actions":
The construction of a roundabout at the point of intersection of the access to the circuit by the RM-605 with the mouth of the T-14-2 road.
Replacement and improvement of the road on the road between El Plan and La Guía, which is very deteriorated at the point of reference.
Correct signage on the roads adjacent to the RM-605 that give access, both from the AP-7 and from the A-30, whose signs should clearly reflect the access to the Cartagena Speed ​​Circuit, as for example from exit 812 of AP-7, a question that the Autonomous Community should transfer to the competent body.
