Cs will ask at the next Plenary the commitment of all the groups to work in the grand pact for employment in 2018 (23/12/2017)

- The orange training will urge the local government to convene the Employment Committee to present the conclusions of the diagnosis of the economic situation of Cartagena, the strategic objectives related to employment, and begin to develop the schedule of actions required to achieve them

- Ciudadanos wants the Local Employment Bureau to be the space that designs a long-term strategy with budgetary obligations to increase the employability and economic development of the municipality, and whose agreement will be endorsed with the signature by all the political groups, unions and businessmen

The Municipal Citizens Group will propose at the next municipal plenary session that one of the main lines of work for the year 2018 is to develop, within the framework of the Local Employment Board, a large agreement signed by all the members for the implementation of the programs to apply in Cartagena and Comarca in the coming years to increase employability and economic development.

The orange training will urge the local government to convene the Employment Roundtable to present the conclusions of the diagnosis of the economic situation of Cartagena, the strategic objectives related to employment, and will ask for the 2018 calendar of actions to be developed. precise to achieve them.

The spokesman for the orange training explained that although the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, "accepted the proposal of our Group and announced in February the preparation of a Strategic Plan for Employment for Cartagena and its Region , and that this would be based on the analysis of the municipality that the UPCT drafted for the COEC and the report on the City Smart City, we believe that little progress is being made in this regard, and we believe that it is time to set the objectives and work on the calendar of actions to fulfill them ".

The orange formation regrets that the Local Employment Committee has not met again since April.

In this municipal body all political groups are represented, the Institute of Development, the Employment and Training Service, the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations (COEC), the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, the Agency for Local Development and Employment, UGT, Comisiones Obreras, the UPCT and the UNED, "Unfortunately the months pass and nobody calls a new session even though it would have to be done quarterly, so we have decided to go to the municipal plenary session to achieve the commitment of all the formations to walk together to this great pact and also to urge the local government to convene the Employment Bureau. "

Manuel Padín considers "essential that all the contributions that pour into this table are included in an ambitious strategic plan that must have the express agreement of all, with the signature of all the members and whose actions should be valued and measured with their corresponding economic departure, which should be included in the upcoming municipal budgets ".

"We have witnessed radical changes in the economic and social profile of other cities in Spain after reaching major agreements and designing long-term strategies like the one we propose, and we wish the same for Cartagena," said the Citizens spokesperson. as an example, the great pact of Gijón or the one of Malaga.

"The short-term actions are still necessary, but we should not settle for that, we should look a little further, and ask ourselves how we want to grow in the next three or four years, and what we have to do to achieve it."

Cs spokesman warns that "this strategy must have the necessary consensus so that it is not affected by possible changes in government, and once completed should be included in turn in another strategic plan of greater scope to define what model of city we want for the next ten or fifteen years. "

Citizens expect the Government of Cartagena to take seriously the Employment Desk;

the training has already prepared a battery of proposals to be developed and could be applied by the local Administration to encourage employability, develop the productive fabric, clearly bet on those companies and projects that invest in technology and innovation, measures for protection, guidance and reconversion of the unemployed over 45 years and to combat youth unemployment.

"We are clear that we want and can be decisive in this Table, we will not be passive or tolerant, we come to add and collaborate actively," said the local spokesman.
