The City of Cartagena, through the Department of Social Services and Social Mediation, prioritizes aid to non-profit social entities, whose action focuses on the care of population groups in a situation of social exclusion and, in particular, , to those that serve the most vulnerable groups in the municipality, covering basic needs.
This council has also prioritized aid to social entities whose action focuses on facilitating and improving Universal Accessibility for the population in general and for Persons with Disabilities in particular.
In this line, a total of 37 entities with grants worth 227,575 euros have been subsidized.
16 of them fight against social exclusion, distributing a total of 94,700 euros;
and other entities focuses its action on improving accessibility, distributing a total of 113,875 euros.
The Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín del Amor, was in charge of delivering the grants to these groups.
"In the current economic and social situation is indispensable the support, reinforcement and collaboration of non-profit social entities that develop an essential task in the fight against social exclusion," he explained.
All these institutions have a deep roots in our municipality, they provide an important social work to the groups to whom they direct their actions, playing an important and very necessary role in our city.
