Participation in the Participatory Budgets increases by 62% with which some thirty projects will be executed in 18 neighborhoods (21/12/2017)

The most voted projects of each district will be included in the next Municipal Budgets |

After the opening of the ballot boxes of the Participatory Budgets that took place on Thursday morning, in charge of the officials of the Decentralization Area, in the presence of the councilor of the Area, Juan Pedro Torralba, the councilor of Transparency, María José Soler, and the mayor of the Treasury, Isabel García, throughout the day has carried out the recount of votes to the 146 selected proposals, in total 6,993 people, 62 percent more than in the previous.

At the closing, in which the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón was present, the data showed the conclusion that this year more projects have been awarded and has reached many more villages than in 2018. Thus, compared to the 6 neighborhoods benefited with 9 projects in 2017, this year will reach 20 neighborhoods and councils with between 25 and 31 projects.

Thus, projects have obtained 18 neighborhoods and councils and, with the casualties, it is very likely to reach two more, which would be Tallante and El Llano del Beal.

Specifically, the towns and neighborhoods in which projects are to be executed are El Palmero, located in La Magdalena;

San jose worker;

Perín;

The Hills of El Albujón;

The Albujón;

Narrow Well;

Saint Felix;

The Bohío;

Polygon Santa Ana;

Cartagena center;

Mediterranean urbanization;

New Cartagena, with 3 projects;

Widening Almarjal;

Barrio Peral;

The Mateos;

Saint Lucia, with 2 projects;

Lo Campano;

La Palma, with 2 projects;

and El Algar, with 3 projects.

To these we must add Tallante and El Llano del Beal.

By districts, the projects are distributed as follows:

District 1

Three projects have been awarded for 154,000, but it was allocated € 209,633, with € 55,633 left over when the losses are awarded. The next one, Tallante, will be awarded (project 1118).

District 3

The children's games of the Polígono de Santa Ana (project 1192) will also be able to run.

District 6

It also has enough money to do the 460 project, which consists of remodeling the Trovero Marín square.

District 7

The surplus will allow the children's playground in El Llano del Beal (project 1175).

The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has been more than satisfied with the good results of participation in the present Participatory Budgets, which she hopes will continue this line of growth in the face of the next ones, and has congratulated the officials of the Citizen Participation Area for his work in favor of this municipal initiative coming to fruition, as it has been.

The mayor of Citizen Participation and Good Government has also made a very positive assessment of this year's procedure, in which 60% more people voted compared to the previous edition in which 4336 people voted.

He also wanted to thank the work of all officials of the council that directs that "have turned" in the proper development of this project.

Within the votes cast, 6552 people voted in person and 441 people voted online.

It is worth noting the participation in the urn of El Algar, where 1085 residents voted, the number of voters followed the ballot boxes of El Albujón, with 603 votes, La Palma, with 560 votes, and El Llano del Beal with 510 votes.

EXECUTION OF THE PROJECTS

Now, once the scrutiny of the valid votes cast has been completed, the City Council will execute the most voted projects in each of the seven districts up to the budget limit established in each one.

As indicated above, it is expected that more projects will be executed than initially set, given that the budget of the project is an estimate and once it has been auctioned, the cost of the project may fall.

In this way, the following project is included in the budget in order of votes and so on until reaching the established expenditure ceiling.

The councilor has also announced, with respect to the next edition of the Participatory Budgeting, that he wants to find a way to introduce the coastal areas into the project, which with the current system was at a disadvantage because there are few neighbors registered. , with the aim that this area also has a section.

It is, as indicated, one of the demands that have been found in this edition.
