The mayor reminded them of the responsibility involved in participating in this body and asked them to make an effort to work for the municipality with seriousness but with sincerity.

He also indicated the joy of the constitution of this Council in which children and adolescents will be the protagonists.

CITY FRIEND OF CHILDHOOD

A Child Friendly City (CAI) respects and applies in its policies, norms and programs, the rights of children contained in the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CDN).

Being a Child Friendly City means moving the CRC to the local level, recognizing children and adolescents' rights.

THE CAI SEAL

The objective of the CAI program is to recognize a management model with a focus on children's rights carried out by the Local Governments through the award of the Child Friendly City Recognition Seal.

This Seal means that the Local Government has a local childhood policy, which is based on a diagnosis of the reality of the children and the locality, carried out in a participatory way with the children themselves.

The Child Friendly City is recognized by the awarding of a CAI Recognition Seal.

This distinction has a validity of four years and implies that the Local Government assumes a series of commitments through the signing of an agreement, among them, to deliver an intermediate report, where it must inform of the progress in the implementation of the Local Plan of childhood.
