and Beatriz Rodríguez, one of the volunteers of the Pablo Ugarte association.

The mayor of Sports has said how important it is for the Department that directs awareness in society about this disease.

"We are sensitized with this type of events that favor social work thanks to sports."

These activities highlight the importance of sport and its action to help people who need it.

Both children and adults can participate in the tournament in different categories and in pairs.

The purpose of the tournament is to make manifest the problem of child cancer, the need for a child cancer unit in the city.

"We want that through sport and solidarity this need can be made visible through the donations made to APU, which helps the investigation".

ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION APU PABLO UGARTE

It is the association that contributes more money in Spain to fight against childhood cancer, contributing more than half a million euros a year.

All that money is thanks to the contributions of its 2,239 members.

Through the events they organize for them: tournaments, street markets, etc., the association helps twenty-one research teams to help in the fight against childhood cancer.

The association was born seven years ago when he died with the boy Pablo Uguarte with only ten years old, who suffered bone cancer for almost two and a half years.

The association was created to support and help cancer research, mainly cancer of children.

It also helps and collaborates in any way with the children (and their families) who suffer from this terrible disease.

One of the ways that the APU has to raise funds later destined, in its totality, to the investigation to fight the infantile cancer, is the organization of events of very different types as it can be this championship of padel.
