The solidarity campaign is under way so that no small one runs out of toys in Reyes (01/12/2017)

Christmas is approaching, and with it the City of Cartagena sets up another year, through the councils of Quality of Life and Social Services and Social Mediation, the campaign of solidary collection of toys 'Juguetea', which in this Occasion arrives under the slogan 'Which one will you bring?'

The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Social Services and Social Mediation, Carmen Martín del Amor, presented this initiative this Friday in which, according to the first mayor, "the City of Cartagena works in a tireless "with the aim of" ensuring that no child under 12 years of the entire municipality is left without a gift in a magical night as is the night of the Three Kings for all children. "

To this end, a single collection point will be enabled, which will be open to the public from December 11 to 27 between 10:00 and 14:00 hours, in the courtyard of the administrative building of the San Miguel Street Town Hall, where any citizen or citizen who wishes to collaborate with this cause may do so by buying a new toy, preferably non-sexist or warlike, and delivering it without wrapping in this place.

On December 27 the days will be closed and on the 28th and 29th we will proceed to classify the toys by ages with the help of the 50 volunteers of the Municipal Volunteer Program, who will help in the whole process, then give them to the different entities and then distribute them.

In this sense it is worth noting that the entities send a list to the Department of Social Services which contains the toys they need, and from there is the classification and distribution to them, which are responsible for delivering them to families .

In the press conference it has been highlighted that the age range for which toys are most needed is that which goes from 9 to 12 years.

Ana Belén Castejón has taken advantage of the presentation to request the collaboration of companies, entities and agencies as well as all the residents of Cartagena and has asked the public "to be encouraged to collaborate", while wishing that it be achieved " increase in the number of toys with respect to last year "as well as" that solidarity reigns ".

Carmen Martín, for her part, thanked all the companies, entities and anonymous citizens "that make it possible for all the children" of the municipality "to have toys this Christmas".
