MC Cartagena requests the PSOE redirect the action of the Government for the good of Cartagena (01/12/2017)

In the afternoon of yesterday, MC Cartagena sent a burofax to the local PSOE, signed by the secretary general and spokesman of the municipal group, José López, and the president, Jesús Giménez, in which, following the latest events, the Mayor is asked to "urgent and immediate meeting to restore the normality of this coalition government."

This morning, the five councilors of MC, José López, Francisco Calderón, Isabel García, María José Soler and Ricardo Segado, accompanied by the president, Jesús Giménez, the Secretary of Organization, Ángel Tarifa, and the members of the Municipal Group, have appeared before the media in the Consistorial Palace to transmit to the public, with honesty and transparency, the content of the communication sent to the government partner in the afternoon of yesterday.

Next, we reproduce the full text read by José López

MC and PSOE have been sharing the responsibility of government in the City of Cartagena since June 13, 2015, after the municipal elections of May of that year.

This government coalition emerged after the PSOE municipal group in Cartagena accepted the minimum document we presented publicly, which made it possible to sign a pact of alternation in the Mayor's office on the aforementioned date.

After the investiture, both municipal groups assigned the areas of government, competences and institutional representations, as was gathered in the agreement of the Local Government Board of June 19, 2015, with the commitment to respect them throughout the legislature.

This commitment was fulfilled by MC until June 21, 2017, in time and form, honoring the given word and the signed document.

Automatically reproduced the allocation of powers, for not having occurred until that date any incident in this regard, to be fully respected by our municipal group, and by me from the responsibility I played as Mayor of Cartagena.

To enable the change in the Mayor, I resigned my position as mayor, negotiating with the municipal group of Cartagena Si Se Puede (CTSSP) a document dated June 13, 2017, endorsed by MC and PSOE the next day for reasons known to all .

Nowadays, after a unilateral decision, the PSOE has violated the government agreement by depriving José López Martínez of his powers, and that transitory situation is joined by the daily and constant interference in the government responsibility of MC councilors.

Mayor's way of proceeding is not based on the proposal of initiatives, search for consensus or joint government action as happened until June 2017, or even a proposal for political direction of the municipality, it is an intrusion without respect to the coalition, technical criteria and administrative procedures.

That is why we ask the PSOE for an urgent and immediate meeting to restore the normality of this government coalition, with the understanding that if it is not carried out and the balance and parity to which the signed agreement is Until June of 2017 it was scrupulously respected by MC, our municipal group will find it impossible to maintain government action.

We are not 'employees' of the PSOE, we are public servants who are interested in obtaining tangible results of our work;

not occupy positions or positions because we have not come to serve us but to serve Cartagena.

And because we have no more interest than public service and responsible and rigorous management, put at risk by the action of the Mayor with announcements made without the support of technicians or respect for administrative procedures, lacking rigor that we are not going to endorse with our support.
