The FICC closes its 46th edition this Saturday (01/12/2017)

will be in charge of closing the festival |

The International Film Festival of Cartagena ends this Saturday, December 2, at its 46th edition.

The Auditorium El Batel will host, from 8:30 p.m., the closing ceremony in which the prizes of the different sections of the festival will be presented.

In the Official Short Film Section, the Carabela de Plata awards will be announced for the Best Short Film, worth € 3,000, and the Peral Submarine for the Best Direction, for Best Performance, for the Best Screenplay and for Best Photography.

In the Murcine section, dedicated to the works carried out by the filmmakers of the Region of Murcia, will be revealed the Carabela de Plata awards Best Regional Short Film, endowed with € 1,500, and Submarino Peral for the Second Best Regional Short Film, endowed with € 500 .

The actor Carlos Santos will receive the FICC / GAS NATURAL FENOSA award in recognition of his cinematographic and television career, in which he has stood out for his great talent and versatility.

In the last edition of the Goya he received the Goya Award for Best New Actor for his role as Luis Roldan in 'The Man with the Thousand Faces'.

The Young Jury, made up of students from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, the University of Murcia, the ISEN University Center and the UNED, will choose their favorite film from the Official Feature Film Section.

In addition, his award will be presented to the winning institute of the section of Short Films Affected, the IES El Bohío, whose student Pablo Belchí Martínez made the award-winning short film 'Dead Hours'.

After the awards ceremony, the second part of 'Proyecto Tiempo', the film directed by Isabel Coixet for the fourth edition of the Cinergía de GAS NATURAL FENOSA project, will be screened.

The film stars Carmen Machi, Pablo Rivero, Belén Cuesta and Hiba Abouk.

Then, the French film 'C'est la vie!', Directed by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano -also directors of 'Intocable' and 'Samba'-, will be in charge of putting the finishing touch to the festival.

The film narrates the intricacies of a luxury wedding in an 18th-century French castle that gets out of hand, and tells it from the perspective of the catering staff, the photographer and the DJ.

Tickets for the closing ceremony can be purchased at www.auditorioelbatel.es and at the ticket offices of the Nuevo Teatro Circo and the El Batel Auditorium.

They are available for a price of € 3, € 5 and € 7.

Talent and creativity among the students of Cartagena

The International Film Festival of Cartagena announced on Thursday the short film winner of the fourth edition of the contest 'Jóvenes AFFECTED', in an event that took place in Room B of the El Batel Auditorium, where all the participating works were screened.

It is about 'Dead Hours', carried out by Pablo Belchí Martínez, from the El Bohío Institute.

With this initiative, the Cartagena International Film Festival aims to encourage and encourage literacy and audiovisual creation among the youngest in the municipality.

For this he counted in his jury with the painting professor Sergio Urán, the cultural manager Mariu Cánovas and the filmmaker Fernando Muñoz.

The short films participating by the El Bohío Institute were: The archive, by Pablo Martínez Alcaraz and Diego Ros González;

Hitmesonia, by Ana Garijo Blázquez;

Dead Hours, by Pablo Belchí Martínez;

Maricheetah, by Lourdes García Morel;

Procesionarias, by Pablo Martínez Alcaraz, Diego Ros González and Daniel Rodríguez Nieto;

and Being happy is free, from Aroha Casas Ovejero, Aiona Segarra Noguera, Pablo Belchí Martínez, Pedro José Martínez Campillo.

For its part, the IES Jiménez de la Espada participated with: Not coincidentally, Gonzalo Majul, Esther Zamora, Arancha Cánovas, Lucía González, Khadija Bourouina, Carlota Gómez and Carmen Vera;

The curse, by Martín Anunci and Pablo Nieto;

and Cosa de dos, by Juanjo Cuenca and Rubén Portela.

The Narval School participated with two works: One Vision, by José Antonio Costa Muñoz and Paula Calatayud Martínez;

and Time, by José Gómez-Vizcaíno Ruiz.
