The film Dede chooses the FICC for its premiere in Spain (30/11/2017)

The International Film Festival of Cartagena, FICC, faces this Friday, December 1, the day before its closure with twelve film proposals distributed by its different venues.

One of them will be the absolute premiere in Spain of the movie 'Dede', which will open the projections of the Nuevo Teatro Circo at 4:30 p.m.

This feature film, recently voted Best Film at the Karlovy Vary Festival, the most prestigious in Central and Eastern Europe, is a drama set in rural Georgia in the 1990s. Directed in Georgia by Mariam Khatchvani, it poses the challenge of the harsh traditions of the Caucasus Mountains by Dina, its protagonist.

Before the film, the Russian short film by Ilia Antonenko 'Viento de chocolate' will be seen.

After that, screenwriter Pol Rebaque will present his film 'Júlia ist', directed by Elena Martín and one of the revelations of the year in independent Spanish cinema.

Awarded at the last Festival of Malaga and selected at festivals such as Gijón, San Sebastián and Alcalá de Henares, it deals with the situations faced by an Architecture student who decides to go from Erasmus to Berlin.

It will be at 7:00 p.m.

The last screening in the New Circus Theater of this edition will be that of 'Nico, 1988', at 22:00 hours.

Directed by Susanna Nicchiarelli, it is a road movie dedicated to the last years of Christa Päffgen, known as Nico, muse of Andy Warhol and singer of The Velvet Underground.

Nico lived a second life when he began his solo career.

This film will be screened preceded by the short film 'Laborable', by Alejandro Marín.

PARALLEL SECTIONS

In the morning, at 9:45 and 11:45 am, in the 'Animated Tale' section of the New Theater Circus will be 'The Little Prince', an animated feature film directed by Mark Osborne that was selected at the Cannes Film Festival.

In it, the protagonist discovers the mysterious universe of the Little Prince of Saint-Exupéry.

At 10:00 a.m., the John Ford cycle of 'Young Aficionados' is closed at the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center with the screening of students from institutes of the western 'El hombre tranquila'.

At the end of this cycle will attend the Councilor for Culture and Education, David Martinez.

After the midday break, the Luzzy room is illuminated again with 'The Swedish theory of love', by Erik Gandini, in the 'Europa.doc' section.

This documentary explores the Swedish lifestyle with a sense of humor, reflecting on how a safe and easy life can become an empty and lonely existence.

It will be at 5:00 pm and it will be seen right after the short films 'El mustache de don Antonio', directed by Pepe Huertas, and 'Huir', by David Perea.

Finally, in the same cultural center, 'Blue Blood Analysis' concludes the 'Cineistas' section of this edition of the festival.

The film directed by Gabriel Velázquez and Blanca Torres will be screened at 8:00 p.m.

Made in 16mm and located in the 1930s, it shows an English aristocrat falling down in the Pyrenees and waking up in a mental sanatorium.

Dr. Pedro Martinez records in his camera the evolutions of this man who has lost his orientation and memory.

The arrival of this aristocrat will serve the hidden intentions of the doctor, who will take advantage to put into practice his evolutionary theories.

Before 'Blue Blood Analysis', viewers will be able to see the short films 'Valores', by Dany Campos, and 'Un buen amigo', by Bernardo Hernández.
