"FCC, the second drain of the municipal budget" (29/11/2017)

CTSSP will take to Pleno a battery of control questions about the different services that the City of Cartagena has concessions with FCC.

In particular, the landfill and the waste treatment plant of El Gorguel;

the street cleaning service and the cleaning of municipal buildings, recently re-awarded to the same company.

Regarding the garbage dump of El Gorguel, the municipal group intends to know, among other things, the data on recycling of urban waste, if they comply with each and every one of the EU recommendations, if the current facilities are adequate and according to the regulations and what is the amount that the Consistory entered in the last two years for the sale of by-products.

In relation to municipal buildings, the municipal PODEMOS group wants to know if there are open sanctioning files to the company for the previous management, how the service will be controlled from now on, if the service inspectors will be renewed and what mechanisms start the Government so that the company complies with the improvements that are included in the specifications.

Street cleaning is another of the major issues that arouse alluvions of citizen complaints2E Since CTSSP have pointed out that this is due to the absolute impunity with which FCC has taken the service in terms of personnel: ghost workers who perform a phantom cleaning.

For these reasons, the municipal group will ask the Government if there are open sanctioning files to the company, if the service will be audited and what are the explanations that FCC has given to the alleged lack of some 20 workers who were included in the contract but who did not perform its functions.
