The Evaluation Committee announces the number of technically viable projects that the neighbors will vote in the Participatory Budgets (28/11/2017)

The councilor of the area of Sustainable Development and Transparency, María José Soler (MC Cartagena), chaired this morning the meeting of the Technical Commission for the Evaluation of Participatory Budgets.

This session, which took place in the administrative building of San Miguel, was attended by municipal technicians from the Department of Infrastructures, as well as representatives of the different groups of the Corporation, and the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Cartagena and District (FAVCAC).

In this second edition of the Participatory Budgeting, the proposals have been evaluated by a Technical Evaluation Commission, which is coordinated by the holder of Sustainable Development, María José Soler.

The Technical Commission has evaluated the proposals to confirm that they are viable, with a total of 239 that have received this consideration.

Specifically, the number of viable projects per district are as follows: District 1 (31);

District 2 (29);

District 3 (25);

District 4 (69);

District 5 (20), District 6 (21) and District 7 (44).

Tomorrow, the Budget Monitoring Commission will finally define the projects that will go to the voting phase, which will run from December 1 to the 19th of the same month, with the final results expected to be released two days later.

Participatory Budgets

Last year began the pilot experience of the first Participatory Budgets of the City of Cartagena.

It is an initiative of the councilor of Finance, Isabel García (MC Cartagena), to give space, for the first time in our municipality, to the opinion of the neighbors, giving them a voice and vote in making decisions regarding the definition of priorities

One of the measures introduced this year at the proposal of MC is the organization of assemblies with neighborhood groups of the municipality to institutionalize a way of prioritizing proposals that leads to an effective and accurate screen. That selection will finally pass the filter of technical criteria to determine its definitive inclusion before the start of the voting period.
