The surroundings of the Lake, new performance of the plan of regeneration of the Historical Helmet (27/11/2017)

From this Monday, and until next December 26, interested companies can submit their candidacy for the tender of the works contract for the reform of the urban services of Beatas, Villalba Corta, San Cristóbal Corta, Ciprés, Don Roque and Plaza de Roldán.

It is a new action that gives continuity to the regeneration plan of the Historic District and nearby spaces initiated in the current legislature.

MOST SIGNIFICANT ACTIONS

The works contemplated are the result of a project to define and evaluate actions awarded last March.

From that study arose the need to act on the network of sanitation and supply network.

Likewise, the burying of the medium voltage line is planned, which currently has an aerial layout.

Also on the telephone line.

In the same way, we will work on the reordering of traffic on the Beatas and adjacent streets, the demolition of sidewalks, the renewal of the pavement both on the road and on sidewalks with polished asphalt, the reordering of the Plaza Roldan with the installation of planters and banks, the grading of the registration covers and the replacement of horizontal signage.

STREET LIGHTING

In relation to the improvement of public lighting, the installation of staffs of 6 meters in height with arm of 1.5 meters in staggered (in parallel), every twelve meters, in the Beatas street and in the Plaza Roldán has been planned.

The luminaires will be equipped with LED technology.

IMPROVEMENT OF URBAN FURNITURE

The project includes, in streets with mixed traffic, the installation of bollards to protect pedestrians from road traffic.

In the Beatas street, where the priority traffic is the pedestrian one, the implantation of this type of bollards has also been arranged.

Likewise, steel pots will be installed in Plaza Roldan.

The installation of banks and litter bins is also included.

AN INVESTMENT OF 350,000 EUROS

The works will involve an investment of 350,000 euros.

The term of execution of the same will be of three months, from the date of the signature of the act of redefinition.

REGENERATION OF THE HISTORICAL HULL

The works to be carried out in the Beatas and adjacent streets represent a new sample of the will to act in a determined and continued way on the Historical Quarter of the municipality and closest environment, attacking the root of the problem.

Thus, at this moment, several large-scale projects are carried out simultaneously, which are resulting in an improvement of the Historic Center and nearby spaces.

In this way, progress is made with the adaptation works of the University District, in the project of consolidation of the walls of the bullring and recovery of the Amphitheater, in the boundary and cleanup surveys of the wall of Felipe V (including the project of musealization of the Civil War shelters), in the construction of a public park and the georadar soundings in the Monte Sacro, in the cleaning of the windlass, in the soundings in the surroundings of the Lake, in the conditioning and improvement in the environment of the House of the Child and Trovero Marín, etcetera.

Likewise, it is worth mentioning the agreement signed with the Association of Veteran Friends of the Cartagenero Castles, its Fortresses, Walls, Old Towers and Batteries of Cartagena (AFORCA) for the rehabilitation of the mountain and the Despeñaperros fortress.

An action that will be around 500,000 euros, and that is already being initiated with the cleanliness of the surroundings of the hill.

The objective will be to allow its recovery in the most approximate way to its original configuration, so that it can be visited.
