Archaeological Heritage and the Advisory Board address the status of the numerous actions underway (24/11/2017)

Palacio Molina hosted yesterday a new meeting of the Heritage Advisory Council of Cartagena under the chairmanship of the first deputy mayor and councilor of Archaeological Heritage, Ricardo Segado.

The meeting was attended by the municipal coordinator of Historical and Archaeological Heritage, Mari Carmen Berrocal, the general coordinator of Sustainable Development, Jesús Giménez, as well as representatives of the groups and entities related to heritage that are part of the Advisory Council.

As conclusions of the meeting, Ricardo Segado has indicated that: "In the afternoon of yesterday, we informed the members of the Advisory Board of the multiple actions that are being carried out in the last third of the year in relation to heritage, with an investment of around 100,000 euros, highlighting, among other issues, the interventions in the Wall of Felipe V;

in the Villa del Paturro, which will be carried out together with the University of Murcia;

as well as the signage that is going to be installed throughout the municipality as a guide to our extensive heritage with special emphasis on different enclaves such as the Cathedral of Cartagena;

the Amoladeras or the Garum Factory in Villas Caravaning ".

He also reported that "he also realized the existence of several court proceedings following allegations by the City Council to recover historical heritage."

In this way, the judicial proceeding was reported in relation to the Cartagena gravestone that the Roca Dorda family donated to the City Council more than 20 years ago and which is in the possession of the haulier who did not deliver it to the administration. the judicialization of the sillar of San Ginés de la Jara, without prejudice to being in possession of the CARM, for what is expected to be transferred shortly to the Municipal Archaeological Museum.

In addition, the existence of a procedure was declared, at the request of José López, about the last break of the Monument to the Processionist, as well as the realization of the raid carried out during the last week in the Polígono Cabezo Beaza, which has been resolved with the Recovery of various Historical Heritage assets.

Finally, the mayor has said that, during the working session, "the existence of transitory rules that incorporate a catalog that allows to protect all the traditional architecture of the Campo de Cartagena, as well as monumental trees, addressing the creation of a work commission that expands the mentioned catalog, not only to constructions, but also to landscape, historical or folkloric values ​​".

It should be remembered that, among the main functions of the Advisory Board, which is coordinated by Ricardo Segado, are, in addition to making proposals to the local government on historical and archaeological heritage, carry out advisory tasks.
