The Local Police of Cartagena will carry out, from Monday, November 27 until Friday, December 1, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic, a special campaign of road safety traffic in school transport and minors.
The main objective of the same is to avoid accidents that occur in the field of school transport in the municipality.
90% of the accidents that occur during school transport journeys take place at the time of getting in or out of the vehicle, or in the immediate moments.
In many cases, they are abuses caused by a distraction of the child, the driver of the school transport or the companions.
To this end, special attention will be paid to school transport vehicles, where agents will carry out inspections on vehicles (authorizations and documents, technical conditions and safety elements, belts and restraint systems) and on drivers (driving license) , driving times and breaks), especially on conventional roads and urban roads.
The controls will be carried out throughout the municipal area, thus guaranteeing greater road safety for all drivers traveling on the roads of Cartagena.
