CROEM and COEC support the transitory rule of the PGOU (22/11/2017)

The City of Cartagena and the business representatives of the Region and the Region have reached an agreement to work together on different projects of vital importance for the productive fabric of the municipality and the area, such as the new General Plan for Urban Planning (PGOU) , the Mediterranean Corridor, the arrival of the AVE, the Zone of Logistic Activities (ZAL) or a few days with the employers of the autonomies and neighboring provinces.

This has been announced by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the president of the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Murcia (CROEM), José María Albarracín, and the president of the Regional Federation of Business Organizations of Cartagena (COEC), Pedro Pablo Hernández, after the meeting held on Wednesday, a work day that the mayor has assessed as "very positive and very fruitful."

BUSINESS SUPPORT TO THE PGOU TRANSITORY NORMA

With regard to the PGOU, Castejón has commented that they are designing "a series of actions aimed at working hand in hand and trying to be in a position to move forward in the shortest time possible and that Cartagena can have that regulatory framework that will enable development Township".

In this sense the councilor has referred to the transitory rules that are allowing to unblock urban projects that could not get ahead having to go back to the previous PGOU, 1987, which was making it difficult to adapt to the needs of now.

As indicated by the mayor, these transitory rules will be seen next November 27 in the Planning Commission, there will be approved the allegations, and once approved go to the House and will be raised to the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.

However, the mayor has pointed out that this does not exempt the municipal executive from continuing to move forward in the document of the new PGOU.

"We are going to do it in a way that everyone can continue participating and contributing but we can not continue to lose more time," said Castejón.

The president has been willing to "do it quickly, well, in a rigorous manner and attending to the greatest number of interests."

Understands that this plan must be developed "giving maximum participation to the public and all associations that have to intervene" and that the new PGOU "is that document where the business can feel identified."

Likewise, he has claimed that "when wealth is generated and a vigorous economy" employment is generated and it is "of quality".

The council wants to have "as soon as possible" on the table the regulatory framework that "will help develop urban projects that will have their impact" in the local economy, in the development of the municipality, and that, he said, will be translated in "generate companies, generate jobs and therefore speak of fewer unemployed in the municipality of Cartagena."

INCLUSION OF THE ESCOMBRERAS VALLEY

In the same line, he has dealt with the regulation of the Valley of Escombreras.

For the mayor it is important "that the Regional Government understands that it is necessary" for the economy of the entire Autonomous Community.

"We could not afford the luxury of other companies that want to settle there could not do so for lack of regulation," he explained, while noting that "there is a good willingness on the part of the Regional Government" to include the Valley of Escombreras.

For José María Albarracín, the regulation of the Valley of Escombreras "is something fundamental for the productive fabric and for the region of Campo de Cartagena" and has ensured that in it the Consistory will have all the "collaboration and predisposition" of entrepreneurs " to help and build bridges with the regional administration so that this process is agile and that it is possible to regulate as soon as possible and in the best way "with the objective of" that the companies can establish themselves in this very important area of development for the entire set of the Region, and particularly for Cartagena, and so that these investments continue to generate wealth and employment ".

RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURES

The representatives of the employer's association and the City Council representative have also addressed in the meeting the concern they share about infrastructures such as the Mediterranean Corridor, the ZAL and the AVE.

In this matter, the mayor has proposed to make a "common front" which has made it "very clear" that both in it and in the Consistory the employer will have two allies.

Castejón has asked the central government "facts", which would begin by "reflected in the General State Budget" with "a budget item" that demonstrates the "decisive commitment of the Government of Spain for infrastructure that for Cartagena are vital."

"We can not be a first-class tourist municipality if we do not have the necessary infrastructures," the first councilor pointed out.

BUSINESS DAYS

It has also been agreed to launch a Business Conference that would have the participation of the President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, a meeting that is expected to serve to share experiences, attract much more investment in the municipality and to be designed between business representatives and the City Council.

This event will be held around the first half of February and seeks to represent all the territorial and provincial business organizations of Andalusia, the Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community as well as the provinces of Alicante and Almeria.

On the other hand, there will also be other days on experiences of areas of logistics actions in different municipalities with characteristics similar to those of Cartagena and whose model can be exported to the port city.

PAYMENTS TO SUPPLIERS

The regional and regional employers have also transferred to the mayor their concern for payments to suppliers by the local Administration.

Ana Belén Castejón has confirmed that she has given the order to the councilors to overcome the administrative obstacles and the bureaucracy as long as they are resolved as soon as possible.

His intention, has qualified, is to close the year with all payments to suppliers a day, and has indicated that personally reviews every two days how it goes.

José María Albarracín has celebrated the "commitment acquired" for the payment of suppliers, which "is now a reality" and will be updated soon.

A SATISFACTORY MEETING

"There are many challenges ahead in the Region of Murcia, and in the region of Cartagena in particular, and are challenges that we have to address in a joint manner," said Pedro Pablo Hernandez, who has advocated the "effort set "of entrepreneurship and Administration.

"This meeting reflects the necessary collaboration between entrepreneurs and Administration," he added.

"We have seen in the mayor an extraordinary drive, a desire to resolve all those issues that are still pending, both those that are their responsibility and those that are from other administrations, to work together and try to unlock and make them real , not only with will but also with facts, "added the president of the COEC.

Both the mayor and both representatives of the employers have agreed on the good harmony that has prevailed in the meeting.
