Jazz from the cradle in the Municipal School of the Barrio de la Concepcion (22/11/2017)

Juan Antonio Rubio and Ismael Ross are two children of the planet Jazz.

As children, they want to communicate with the children of our planet, and they do it through the language they know best: music.

This is how these two musicians from the academy of the music academy 'Misercua' begin each of the sessions of 'Pequejazz'.

A program that the Department of Education organized for the second year in a row in the Early Childhood Education Centers of the Campo de Cartagena region coinciding with the International Jazz Festival, which today, November 22, has visited the children of the School Infantile Municipal of the District of the Conception.

The councilman of Culture, David Martinez, along with municipal technicians, has come to the school to enjoy a day of music with about 70 children and girls between 1 and 3 years of school.

The children, who in many cases still articulate few words, have participated in the activity with clapping, percussion instruments and even dancing.

Also through gestures, and with a simple language, they have been made known the musical instruments they have played.

Dressed in white and with a black bow tie, as if they were concertists, they have been very attentive despite their age.

Telling stories and interacting continuously with them, Rubio and Ross give them small touches of technical knowledge, always from a very theatrical and didactic language.

The basis of the project is to bring music to children, in particular jazz, from a very early age through popular children's movies.

Through the emotions that are transmitted through music and theater, Rubio expresses with enthusiasm that he wants to transmit the love for music at a time when this subject "is being left out" in schools.

This year this initiative has been extended to 10 schools, explained the councilor, with which it is intended that children "enjoy music, learn and move."

Today's session was the seventh and this year's edition will conclude on Wednesday of next week at La Milagrosa Nursery School.

Martínez has expressed his desire that this program last many years given its good acceptance ..
