Citizens demand compliance with the agreement to review the municipal playgrounds and the creation of the ordinance (21/11/2017)

- The spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, has assured "that it is time for this Government to take seriously the poor state of our playgrounds and to start working to tackle the problem."

- The problem is widespread, both in the city center and in neighborhoods and councils, and requires significant investment by this Government, "and if they do nothing to solve it, we will require investment in the next municipal budgets for 2018, for Cs, the safety of children and the recovery of these spaces of coexistence are a priority ", assured Manuel Padín.

The complaints by the state of the infantile parks of the municipality, far from disappearing, continue hardening as today it has been possible to verify through information published by the newspaper the Truth.

The spokesman of Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, has assured "that it is time for this Government to take seriously the poor state of our playgrounds and get to work to tackle the problem."

The spokesman of Cs has recalled that since February 13 this year there is a mandatory agreement to comply with the general revision of all the playgrounds of the municipality, to ensure that they comply with European regulations on safety and health .

This agreement, which was presented by Citizens, included a point by which the local Executive is obliged to develop a municipal ordinance that reflects the European regulations on safety in children's areas, including measures of accessibility and integration for those infants with mental or physical disabilities .

"After nine months since the agreement, this Municipal Group has no evidence that these facilities have been reviewed or that the ordinance that should regulate their security is being prepared," lamented Manuel Padín.

The problem is widespread, both in the city center and in neighborhoods and councils, and requires significant investment by this government, "and if they do nothing to solve it, we will require investment in the next municipal budgets for 2018, to Cs the safety of children and the recovery of these spaces of coexistence are a priority. "

In October 2015, the first integration park in Cartagena was inaugurated in the Santa Ana Industrial Park, in which, apart from contemplating safety regulations, children with disabilities were equipped with adapted elements to play, "however , of this initiative so positive we have not heard anything again, "recalled the spokesman of the orange training, which ensures that" after more than two years of legislature, we continue to find, in addition to the lack of adapted swings, important deficiencies in of security in several playgrounds of the city, as already showed a report made by the UPCT in November 2016. "

The spokesman for Citizens explains that there is no uniform national or regional regulation on safety in playgrounds, "however, there is a European regulation, which, despite not being mandatory, does include a series of guidelines that we consider it would be convenient to continue for the protection of minors ".

Currently, only the communities of Andalusia and Galicia have developed this European regulation through a decree.
