New pavement in the greenway and the expansion of the Health Center, the main demands of Barrio Peral's neighbors (17/11/2017)

- Manuel Padín: "The health center has remained small despite the various reordering for the increase in the books, after analyzing its space and the burden of support it will take this issue to our Group in the Regional Assembly"

Cartagena, Friday, November 17 -.

The spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, met yesterday with several neighborhood representatives of Barrio Peral, including the Neighborhood Association and the Association of Women Amanecer, to collect their main demands and needs.

Among the issues discussed during the meeting, he highlighted the need and old claim for the reforestation of the missing pieces in the southern section of the greenway boulevard with species of low allergenic level so that their fruits do not stain the way, the installation of luminaries, bins , areas of point, security cameras, and above all the replacement of the pavement, which raises continuous swirls of dust and generates allergic response, while the neighbors are not required to clean the area every two months at least.

The representatives of Barrio Peral consider that the City Council should give an immediate response for reasons of public health and in compliance with the state legislation and the European regulation of air quality.

The finishing that they prefer between the associations of the zone, is the one used in the green way of Vitoria.

The poor general state, in the opinion of the neighborhood groups, generates an effect called for an undesirable type of leisure.

Despite the continuous requirements to the City Council for years, no one from the Government, neither in the previous legislature nor in the current one, has done anything to remedy this situation.

In fact, the groups claim that they have not received significant investments since 2011.

Expansion of the Health Center

Another of the neighborhood's main needs has to do with the pressure of the health center in the area.

The neighbors request the extension of the Health Center.

According to the orange training spokesman, Manuel Padín, "this center has remained small despite the various rearrangements in its interior space in recent years by the increase in the booklets."

"Patients have to wait in crowded waiting rooms and the healthcare team suffers a greater workload than they can assume due to the lack of consultations", explained the Cs spokesperson, who has announced that his group will visit shortly. dates this center to perform an analysis of their needs to, later, transfer more information to their Parliamentary Group in the Regional Assembly.

Claims to the transitory norms

Another point that was discussed in the meeting with neighborhood associations, which do not rule out mobilizations, was a battery of suggestions that have to do with the General Urban Plan (PGOU) and the access of the AVE to the city.

Regarding the future temporary norm that will come to safeguard the legal security after the annulment of the PGOU, the neighbors have presented some allegations, such as the one related to the protection of the set of villas and houses of modernist type such as those adjacent to the Plaza de Canthal.

They also ask for the annulment of the rule that prevents them from modifying the houses bordering the current Greenway, the swap of some land in Las Buhardillas to enable sports facilities, and the reconversion of the lands included between the streets Jorge Juan, Ángel Bruna, and Antonio Lauret from the area of equipment to the green zone and recreation, and various measures to avoid a model of urbanism of extreme density.
