The third week of the Cartagena Jazz Festival begins on Thursday, November 16, with the concert of Maxi Caballero Trío in the El Cuervo de Cartagena concert hall, at 10 pm with free admission until full capacity is reached.

The formation of the Murcian guitarist and composer will be part of the programming of the Off Jazz festival, offering his creations between the most traditional jazz and the most avant-garde jazz.

Maxi Caballero is a guitarist, composer and teacher, with a degree in Guitar-Jazz from the Conservatori Superior del Liceu de Barcelona.

With his project "Maxi Caballero Quartet" he wins in 2016 the 4th edition of the Young Jazz International Contest of Talavera de la Reina.

With different groups and projects, he has participated in many concerts and festivals, among which we can highlight the "Music als Parcs" series (Barcelona, 2016), Calatayud Jazz Festival (2015), Estadilla Jazz Festival (2014) , JazzFermín (Pamplona, 2013), Festival de Jazz de Bullas (2012) ...

To date, his most ambitious project is the "Maxi Caballero Trio", of which he is a composer and guitarist.

In a small formation composed of guitar, drums and bass, it is explored and investigated in the sounds offered by a multitude of influences that drink from the most traditional and contemporary jazz, rock, pop, author's music, etc.

This is how the themes that make up an original repertoire, loaded with freshness, mature and flourish, a repertoire that moves organically between emotional ballads and themes full of energy that make their development vibrate.
