The Luzzy hosts the conference on Felix Marti Ibañez, a universal Cartagena (09/11/2017)

The assembly hall of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center will host tomorrow, November 10, at 8:00 pm, the conference 'Félix Martí Ibáñez, a universal Cartagena', given by José Vicente Martí Boscá, doctor in the History of Medicine.

The event, presented by Pepa Martínez, is organized by the Historical Memory Association of Cartagena in collaboration with the program Read, Think, Imagine, which has launched the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena.

FÉLIX MARTà IBÁÑEZ

Son of the consummate pianist and professor of Higher Primary Education, the cartagenera Josefina Ibáñez Sánchez and the illustrious pedagogue and prolific writer, the Valencian Félix Martí Alpera, came to the world in Cartagena Félix Martí Ibáñez, on December 26, 1911.

Doctor in medicine in 1934, this brilliant disciple of Dr. Marañón was a medical expert psychologist and sexologist and brilliant writer, creator of the Workers Health Organization, General Director of Health and Welfare, author of the first Voluntary Regulation of Pregnancy in Spain.

Exiled after the civil war, he carried out his professional work in different countries, being named professor and director of the Department of History of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of New York.

Creator of MD magazine and author of 25 books in English and more than 30 in Spanish.

He participated in dozens of international conferences and gave more than 1000 lectures.

Known in the international arena, Cartagena pays him a well-deserved tribute.

JOSÉ VICENTE MARTà BOSCÁ

Doctor in Medicine and Surgery, Master in Community Health, specialist in Industrial Hygiene.

He works in the General Directorate of Public Health, of the Generalitat Valenciana since 1985.

Associate Professor of Public Health at the University of Valencia, since 2006, participates in postgraduate training programs of several universities and teaching centers.

He has published more than 110 works, including 7 books, two on Félix Martí Ibáñez.
