Flamenco, mathematics and photography in the cultural offer this weekend at the Archaeological Museum (09/11/2017)

The Municipal Archaeological Museum Enrique Escudero de Castro celebrates this week several activities and temporary exhibitions that will diversify the usual programming of the interpretation center.

On Thursday, November 9 at 8:30 p.m., we have the presentation of the book 'José Menese.

The voice of the Jonda culture in the Spanish Transition.

When he was 25 years old, in the Larousse Dictionary his name, his discography and the explanation of his renovating and dignifying work for flamenco art already appeared.

Along with Francisco Moreno Galván, he interested flamenco to new social layers, creators of opinion and culture, by making the so-called Jonda Culture alive, which meant so much in the years of the Spanish Transition.

Génesis García Gómez is the author of this work that is presented within an activity organized by the Peña Flamenca de Cartagena Antonio Piñana, with free admission until full capacity.

'Gymkana Mathematics' is the activity organized by the Museum at the Week of Science and Technology 2017, of the Seneca Foundation.

It will be held on Saturday November 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

In a playful and fun way the kids will be able to get to know the important facts told in the Museum through the application of various mathematical techniques and understand and appreciate the importance of mathematics in daily life.

It is developed in teams of 3 or 4 young people who with written instructions will perform different mathematical tests using the elements exhibited in the Museum, in a controlled time.

The winning team is the one that solves the tests in the shortest time.

Registration: Telephone: 968128967/68 or in person at the Museum reception desk.

Also on Saturday, November 11 will be the inauguration of the exhibition of the snapshots of the II Antonio Acosta Hernandez Photography Competition of Regional Archaeological Heritage, which will be open until December 17.

There are more than 40 photographs that have been presented to this II Contest organized by MVSAEDOMVS, Association of Friends of the Municipal Archaeological Museum, which this year has been opened to the Heritage of the entire region and that capture various aspects of it.

The result will be made public next Saturday, November 11 at 12:00 in the awards ceremony to be held at the Municipal Archaeological Museum of Cartagena.
