Artificial grass in El Albujon and La Aljorra, final actions of the Participatory Budgets of 2017 (31/10/2017)

The Contracting Committee of the City of Cartagena held a new meeting this Tuesday in the administrative building of San Miguel under the chairmanship of the Councilor for Finance, Hiring and Heritage, Isabel Garcia, and that has had the presence of the councilor of Participation Citizen and Good Government, Juan Pedro Torralba, the Councilor for Quality of Life, Health, Consumption and Environment, Francisco Calderón, and the spokespersons for the opposition municipal groups Francisco Espejo, Ana Rama and Pilar Marcos, among others.

During the session, progress was made in bidding for two projects included in the 2017 Participatory Budgeting. Thus, after reading the reports on the technical proposals, the envelopes have been opened with the economic offers for the contracts that will facilitate the construction of an artificial turf football field in El Albujón, and the construction of an artificial turf football field in the 'Luis Guarch' sports facilities in La Aljorra.

The proposals have been sent to the technical services to assess whether there are reckless or disproportionate losses before making the award proposal.

AWARD OF PROJECTS OF PARTICIPATORY BUDGETS

With the tender of these two actions, practically all of the projects chosen by the residents in the 2017 Participatory Budgets will be awarded.

The only two exceptions are justified by various peculiarities, such as the installation of artificial turf on the La Palma football field, which has required a land swap process to access the most suitable location.

It is an initiative that goes beyond the installation of artificial turf, since a new field will be built, with the actions that this implies.

In a different situation, there is the settlement and consolidation of the Casillas de El Portús mountain.

It should be noted that the drafting phase of the project, municipal competence, has already concluded, so that the Cartagena Consistory is waiting to receive the authorization of higher administrations (Demarcation of Coasts and Ministry of Agriculture, Food of the Ministry of Environment Environment and General Directorate of Natural Environment of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia The procedure was requested during the past summer, when it happens, the local Executive will have free way to begin its bidding.
