Manuel Padín, "Mrs. Barreiro would have been tried a long time ago if she were not protected by coercion" (18/10/2017)

- For the spokesperson for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padin, "we have to demonstrate to the citizens that we deserve their trust, if we get the politicians to stop placing or remove judges and we get that nobody can bolt to the seat to go to a court privileged, we will regain the credibility of our institutions. "

On the occasion of the agreement of the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court to open a proceeding to Pilar Barreiro, senator of the PP and exalcaldeesa of Cartagena, for alleged crimes of fraud, falsification of documents, prevarication, embezzlement and bribery, Cartagena, Manuel Padín, said today that "this lady had to be tried a long time ago, it was in May 2016 when the Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard proposed its 'imputation', that's why Citizens are fighting in the Assembly Regional Government of Murcia and in the Congress of Deputies for the suppression of assessments, we do not want the politicians in charge to enjoy a "judicial privilege" for the public position they occupy, they should be tried under the same conditions and by the same courts that the rest of citizens ".

For Manuel Padín, "we have to demonstrate to the citizens that we deserve their trust, if we get the politicians to stop placing or remove judges and we get that nobody can bolt to the seat to go to a privileged court, we will regain credibility in institutions ".

Regarding the situation of Pilar Barreiro, the spokesperson of the Orange Formation believes that "it will be justice that dictates whether it is guilty or not, today we can feel proud of living in a state of law where the one who does the pay, sooner or later" .

Manuel Padín recalled that "we have already said by active and passive that Mrs. Barreiro should soon offer his last service to the citizens of Cartagena leaving the Senate and renounced his act of senator."

We do not believe that he is now in a position adequate to represent the interests of Cartagena, and of Spain in the Upper House of the Cortes Generales. "
