The Citizen spokesman in Cartagena, Manuel Padin, attended today in the San Miguel Building to the ordinary session of the Finance and Interior Commission, where the proposal of the Councilor for the Area of ​​Finance and Interior, Isabel Garcia, has been debated and voted on. , on the provisional approval of the Modification of the Municipal Tax and Borrowing Regulations and Custom Payment Plan of the City of Cartagena for the year 2018. The Municipal Citizens Group has decided to abstain.

The spokesman for the orange formation has explained his abstention "the modification of the tax ordinances came to us last Monday and we are still reviewing in detail and making numbers."

Despite the abstention, Manuel Padín has asked to speak in the Commission to thank the inclusion of the proposal of Citizens to subsidize up to 50 percent in the ICIO to constructions works and facilities that invest in renewable energy, "This is a motion that we take to the September plenary session and it is grateful that it has already been implemented, it will certainly be a stimulus for the use of clean energy in the municipality against the use of fossil fuels."

For Manuel Padín, "we believe that there is still a lot of scope to stop punishing the pocket of Cartagena in our rates and taxes, but at the same time we trust and respect in the good work of our municipal technicians who have sought that balance in the balance of our income and expenses. "

The local Citizens' spokesman has reported that his group will continue to analyze the proposal and considers that "if there are no major objections, it is very likely that we will change our vote in the regular plenary on the 19th."
