The acting mayor welcomes the new Director of Ecocarburantes Españoles in Cartagena (10/10/2017)

The new director of the biofuel production plant Ecocarburantes Españoles in Cartagena, Joaquín Rodríguez, and the outgoing director of the same, David Galindo, met on Tuesday with the acting mayor, Juan Pedro Torralba, at the Consistorial Palace.

David Galindo retires after 13 years in front of the plant and grants the relief to Joaquin Rodriguez, who now happens to be the director.

For this reason both leaders have met with the councilor to present the new president to the first councilor in office as well as to communicate the continuity of the project, which will not influence this change.

In this sense Rodríguez and Galindo have transferred to Torralba the commitment of the company for bioenergy and have stated that the activity of the same and the jobs of its team of professionals are maintained.

They also pointed out that the plant has exceeded production capacity by 15%.

The company, which recently completed the sale process by the former holding company, Abengoa, to Trilantic Europe, has been installed for almost 20 years in the Escombreras Valley, where it produces about 150 million liters of bioethanol and 135,000 MWh per year with a workforce of 79 workers.

The expectations of the new management are to continue growing in the city in the same line and to anticipate what the market will bring, given that the sector in which this industry fits has a very changing character, so it is necessary to anticipate .
