Work is progressing around the Casa del Niño (05/10/2017)

Work progresses in the surroundings of the Casa del Niño.

This was confirmed on Thursday, October 6, by the Councilor for Sustainable Development and Transparency, María José Soler;

the mayor of Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón, and the mayor of the Government, José López, who have visited the repair works in Licenciado Casceles street and the section of Jabonerías.

In these streets, located in the surroundings of the Casa del Niño and the old Bazán school, demolition works are being carried out on existing sidewalks to be replaced by a single platform, with the aim of pedestrian traffic achieving greater prominence and provide a greater width to them, as it already happens in the Place of the Apprentice and the street of the Carmen.

Of the two resulting sidewalks, the one that will have the greater width of a line of trees will be provided that will provide shade in this zone.

Thus, it is sought to favor the transit of the pedestrians during the summer months.

In addition, among the improvement tasks, the road will be raised to the level of the sidewalk.

These actions are complemented by a series of works in the surroundings of the Casa del Niño, which will allow to widen the access road to the school, to renovate the pavement and to change the luminaire by LED lighting.

Likewise, new banks will be installed, enabling a new public space for the users of the educational infrastructure.

CONDITIONING OF THE SIDE OF TROVERO MARÃN

Subsequently, members of the municipal government have moved to the Station Sector, where they have begun the signaling work prior to the conditioning of the sidewalk in Trovero Marín Avenue.

This action will increase the width of the sidewalks to meet the obligation to improve accessibility to pedestrians and thus increase safety.

This greater accessibility will be favored, moreover, by the habilitation of an access ramp behind the present major parterre.

Regarding the garden area, there will be a retaining wall of reinforced concrete and variable height.

In addition, greater continuity in this area will be facilitated and a new green space will be created.

On the other hand, the interior pedestrian aisle between the two garden beds will end with a hand-crafted concrete floor.

The curbs, reused, will be of old stone, deepening in the line of optimization of resources that promotes the area of Sustainable Development.

Likewise, the existing palms of the outer parterre will be transplanted, in addition to replanting the existing prairie.

INSTALLATION OF APARCABICIS POINTS AND VEHICLE RECHARGE POINTS

On the other hand, the project includes the installation of different points of parking bikes with the aim of promoting the use of this means of transport among citizens.

This measure allows to continue with the measures initiated by the municipal government to improve sustainability in the municipality.

Finally, it is going to proceed to the renovation of the water pipes and the telecommunications networks.

Works are expected to be completed during the last days of November or early December.

Finally, the councilors have visited the first electric recharge point of the municipality, which will be located in the Gates of San José.

It will be available for citizenship throughout the month of October.
