Mariano Peña arrives in Cartagena with'Obra de Dios' (04/08/2017)

The well-known film and television actor Mariano Peña becomes the Lord of the Universe in the comedy that has triumphed in New York.

Tomorrow, Saturday, August 5, El Batel Auditorium will host Obra de Dios, written by David Javerbaum and directed by Tamzin Townsend, a co-production of Txalo Producciones and Pentación Espectáculos.

Bernabé Fernández and Chema Rodríguez-Calderón complete the distribution of this production critically acclaimed.

Natural of Manzanilla (Huelva), Mariano Peña took his first steps as an actor of dubbing and theater, in which he began with the work The beautiful female.

He has been the voice of characters such as the master Kame Sennin of Dragon Ball, in addition to having participated in some of the most successful series of recent years, as Companeros, Central Hospital, Los Serrano or Aida, in which he played Mauricio Colmenero, Paper for which he has received multiple awards.

In cinema, she has been part of feature films like The Light prodigious, Queen and Do not Call it Love, call it X. She has also starred in great musicals such as Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, in which she played the transsexual woman Bernardette Basinger.

The director

Born in England, Tamzin Townsed is one of the names most associated with theatrical success in Spain.

He began his career in Barcelona, ​​directing shows such as Bones Festes or El Diari d'Anna Frank.

He has also directed several of the works of Jordi Galcerán, as Palabras Encadenadas, Carnavala or Fuga.

With more than 40 theatrical productions behind him, Townsend has worked all sorts of texts, from classics like Shakespeare and Zorrilla to contemporaries like Yasmine Reza or Sharman Macdonald.
