Sustainable Development and UPCT advance in participation formulas for the design of the General Plan (01/08/2017)

The Sustainable Development area of ​​the City Council of Cartagena and the UPCT have set to work to move towards a new General Plan for Urban Planning, of a plural and participatory nature.

And around this initiative, a meeting was held on Tuesday in the administrative building of San Miguel.

In it have participated the councilor of Portal and Office of Transparency, María José Soler;

The general coordinator of Sustainable Development, Jesús Giménez;

Municipal technicians of Participation and Sustainable Development;

Members of the Platform for a New General Plan and a working group of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena specialized in participation, directed by Professor Jaume Blancafort.

This multidisciplinary team of UPCT has formulated different formulas to allow a real and effective participation in the design of the General Plan and, in this sense, Jesus Giménez, has indicated that it has been agreed to celebrate, the first week of October will probably be a day of information and training, open to all citizens, associations and the business community, which will explain what the General Plan consists of, the basic normative limitations with which it starts and how it can be To allow the General Plan to represent a model of a city shared by the administration and the majority of citizens.

Sustainable Development continues, therefore, betting to advance in that line that leads to a municipality more sustainable attending to principles like circular economy, the participation and the open government, own of century XXI.
