The III Open Summer School ends after a month of activities (24/07/2017)

The III Open Summer School of the Historical Center and Sector Station "ConVive in your neighborhood: open for vacation 2017" closed yesterday after passing through the same of more than 500 neighbors, who have participated is this initiative that is part of the Community process of the Historical Center and Sector Station that since 2014 promotes coexistence and neighborhood participation, within the framework of the Intercultural Community Intervention Project, promoted by the "la Caixa" Obra Social.

"In this edition, a great part of the activities have been developed in the streets, squares and other public spaces of the neighborhoods, in order to contribute to these spaces as meeting places between neighbors and neighbors for intercultural coexistence.

The experience has been a success because of the great neighborhood response it has had ", highlighted the Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín.

Among the activities that have been developed, it has been possible to enjoy Children's Street Games, Urban Exhibition in the Plaza, visit to the Old Barracks of Antigones, Graffiti Workshop, visits to the Santa Florentina Market, visits to Torres Park, Excursion to Campus Muralla Of the Sea, traditional games in the Carlos III Park Lane and in the Plaza Risueño, Photographic Gymkana, visit to the Train Station, and a long etcetera.

"ConVive in your Neighborhood: Open for holidays", is one of the Summer Schools that drives "la Caixa" Social Work in 37 territories at national level, within the framework of the Intercultural Community Intervention Project that fosters intercultural relations, Favors social cohesion and seeks the empowerment of society for coexistence and community development.

In Cartagena, the Intercultural Community Intervention Project has been carried out since 2014 and will continue in the next two years, which will serve as an opportunity to consolidate the community process already initiated from the City of Cartagena and Fundación Cepaim.
