Cs Cartagena asks to increase lighting in the last section of Calle Angel Bruna (24/07/2017)

-Manuel Padín: "It is important that the City Council detect these sections of reduced visibility and get to work to reduce road insecurity in these areas, Angel Bruna is just the first of many other examples and from Citizens we believe it necessary that the Government, in Collaboration with the Local Police, establish a work plan to reduce these dangerous points in the municipality of Cartagena.

The Municipal Group of Citizens in Cartagena will ask in the next ordinary plenary session that the local government study the possibility of increasing illumination in the last section of Calle Ángel Bruna, so as to improve the night visibility in this busy street.

According to the spokesman of the orange formation, Manuel Padín, "there are numerous and repeated complaints of the residents of Angel Bruna due to the lack of lighting in this street, especially the section between the area of the Guardia Civil barracks and the roundabout Mandarache shopping center, this being one of the busiest areas of our city. "

"We have found that when the sun goes down the light from the streetlights of this road is very tenuous and the visibility for drivers is minimal, with the consequent risk to pedestrians crossing the zebra crossing in this street," said the spokesman Of Cs.

For Manuel Padín, "it is important that the City Council detect these reduced visibility sections and work to reduce road safety in these areas, Ángel Bruna is just the first of many other examples and from Citizens we believe it necessary that the Government, in Collaboration with the Local Police, establish a work plan to reduce these dangerous points in the municipality of Cartagena, we are currently working on an initiative in that sense that will be presented starting in September.

"Our goal is to help the Government improve the lighting of zebra crossing to reduce possible traffic accidents and increase the visibility of drivers of passenger cars and pedestrians at night, but also to improve the visibility of all those who require it, through Their repainting or eliminating visual obstacles such as containers or parking areas adjacent to the pedestrian crossing, "said Manuel Padin, who believes that this plan should include the use of social networks as they are" a communication tool essential in the times that run , Since they allow to inform about any possible incidence of a faster way, besides knowing the demands and needs ".
